Advances in the Management of Prostate Cancer (Module 1)

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of community urologists, oncologists, and other healthcare providers involved in the diagnosis, treatment, or management of patients with prostate cancer.

Program Overview

Over the past 13 years, several new agents have been approved to treat patients with metastatic prostate cancer (PC). As a result, clinical guidelines have been updated frequently that support the expanding the role of combination therapy, particularly by introducing chemotherapy earlier to patients with castration-sensitive progressive disease. There is also growing demand for providers who are capable of implementing multimodal treatments. This interactive activity will discuss advances in the management of patients with metastatic PC, specifically metastatic castration (hormone)-sensitive PC, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, second-generation therapies, considerations for sequencing therapies, and emerging therapies.


The goal of this program is to provide urologists and oncologists with the most up-to-date information on treatment options and strategies for metastatic castration-resistant PC.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be better able to do the following:

  1. EVALUATE emerging therapies for castration-sensitive prostate cancer.
  2. IMPLEMENT appropriate therapy combinations and sequencing for patients with advanced metastatic prostate cancer.
  3. APPLY all available therapy modalities to propose individualized office-based treatment plans for advanced prostate cancer patients.

  6. All other participants who receive a grade of 70% or better on the Post-Activity Test Questions and who complete the Evaluation will receive a Certificate of Participation.
